"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it"
This is one of the more famous quotes from the film Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and I feel like it can describe these icons as well. For someone who hasn't seen the movie, they can look right past these objects, but even for someone who has seen it, these objects are small and might fly right past your eyes while you view the film.

The goal was to create these icons and have them recognizable by people who enjoy the movie. Some icons are only in the movie for 3 seconds, and some are in it for it's entirety, but all of them play a role in the iconic movie.
Rough, very rough sketches
The first concept of the icons, I thought of things I remembered most vividly from last seeing the film.
While sketching out the ideas for the icons, I realized that I wanted to make them more simple and have less detail. Just focusing on the main icon and not delve deep into every little thing about them. I wanted viewers to be able to recognize the icons by seeing simple shapes
For example, I used very simple shapes in the making of the Redwings jersey, but still used enough to make it recognizable. In the early stages the logo on the front had much more detail and I spent a lot of time on it, but soon after I scrapped that and simplified down to 2 shapes. The shapes shown are all clean and don't have much detail, but when put together make an icon.
"You're not dying, you just can't think of anything good to do. "
Ferris says this line to his best friend Cameron to get him out of bed and do something with his life. With one simple call like this, Cameron's day is changed into one of most memorable he has had. In the same way, with a few simple shapes, they were changed into iconic parts of most memorable films.
In the end, I feel like the icons fulfill their job. They are all unified in being simple, yet interesting. They area all unified, fitting in with the film, and each one can directly correlate to an iconic scene in the movie.
